CitizenM is set to open its Copenhagen outpost this month, heralding its arrival in the Danish capital with an installation from locally based photographer Marie Hald, which comprises 33 portraits of city residents that adorn the hotel façade along H.C. Andersens Boulevard 12.
The citizenM Copenhagen Radhuspladsen reflects signature brand elements from technology to a midcentury modern design. A mixture of commissioned and collected artwork and furnishings demonstrate the playfulness of citizenM while also punctuating the laidback design. The new hotel is also the first in the brand portfolio to house the living room on its top floor, where the sky bar and outdoor terrace frame expansive urban views. All 238 artful accommodations are anchored with extra-large king beds and in-room iPads that allow guests to curate their experience from temperature to lighting. Four creative societyM meeting environments are also featured onsite.
Local artist Troels Aagaard painted internal and external murals, while Ditte Ejlerskov and HuskMitNavn provided artwork for each accommodation as well as ceiling and wall murals for the sky bar.
