citizenM has announced that its first Washington, DC hotel is set to join a forthcoming mixed-use property in 2020. Interiors for the new outpost will be crafted by frequent citizenM collaborator and Amsterdam-based design firm Concrete, while the New York-based FXFOWLE Architects will oversee the design of the complex’s two towers. One tower will house the 252-room citizenM, with the other to hold 194 rental apartments.
The DC location will include a slew of brand signatures including common spaces and amenities, such as the living room-style lobby, technological upgrades, open workspaces, a fitness center, a yoga studio, and a sweeping rooftop venue. Striving for LEED Gold certification, the property will be situated in the city’s southwest corner near several major attractions.
citizenM is currently expanding its presence in the U.S., with locations in Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle all in development.
