Wellness-focused resort CIVANA has newly revealed a $50 million renovation and repositioning of its spa. Nestled within the Sonoran Desert outside of Scottsdale, Arizona, the restorative retreat now emphasizes sustainability throughout its two story, 22,000-square-foot oasis. Ben Meyer and Anissa Mendil of the local firm 3rd Story were tapped to oversee the creation of the luxurious space and its 28 treatment areas.
In addition to dedicated men’s and women’s relaxation areas, a 1,600-square-foot co-ed relaxation lounge is attached to an outdoor balcony set against a backdrop of the Black Mountains. Inside, guests can take their pick of indulgent treatments such as a Watsu therapy pool, two couple’s treatment rooms, three wet treatment rooms, five facial rooms, and 13 massage rooms. The Aqua Vitality Circuit, a communal hydrotherapy space, comprises treatments such as a hot/cold wading pool, a therapeutic soaking pool, a cold deluge shower, and a five-climate sanarium—the only of its kind in the continental U.S. An outdoor lap pool and sundeck are also featured along with a boutique and salon.
