Parisian design practice Studio MHNA has completed the $110 million renovation of the Club Med Alpe d’Huez in the French Alps. Nicknamed L’île au Soleil, or Island in the Sun, the mountain retreat is known for receiving more than 300 days of sunshine per year.
A chic camping-inspired aesthetic was imparted upon the 441-room resort through the use of a variety of raw materials, including wood, leather, and wool. Open spaces organically flow into one another with a uniform palette of bright orange, blackcurrant, cranberry red, and teal.
The all-inclusive resort includes two restaurants—Le Pic Blanc and the Gourmet Lounge—and a bar, Le Névé.
