Scandic has unveiled its newest hotel, the Hotel Norge, in Bergen, Norway. The newly opened property embraces the history and culture of the city, welcoming visitors with a giant sun installation that sits at the heart of the lobby and the nearly 323,000-square-foot building.
Amsterdam-based design firm concrete oversaw the design of the hotel, which is conceived as a unique array of curated spaces. In addition to the sophisticated and ambient second-floor lobby, Café Norge serves as a key fixture of the property. An iconic wooden staircase links two floors within the café, allowing it to host lectures and performances while anchored by its central bar.
Nova restaurant comprises several rooms easily connected or separated to create a series of intimate atmospheres. Soft walls also showcase horizons that convey the beauty of nature and evolving scenery. Complete with double doors, each accommodation is crafted as a reinterpretation of the traditional Norwegian Hytte Leave as well.
