Conrad Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to redesign the La Tranquila Resort in Punta de Mita, Mexico, and reopen the property as the Conrad Playa Mita in the winter of 2019 following a multimillion-dollar overhaul. The resort will be the brand’s second in Mexico.
Four firms comprise the project’s design team, including U.S. firms SB Architects and EDSA, and Mexican practices Arquitectura de Interiores and Grupo Dovela. Updates will modernize the property and further incorporate the tropical landscape into the setting to highlight the natural beauty of the surrounding area. Open corridors and contemporary, coastal décor will punctuate the interior along with more than 45,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting and event space. Beachfront accommodations, a spa, pool, tennis courts, and F&B venues are also featured.
