Conrad Hotels and Resorts has announced the opening of the Conrad Cartagena—its first outpost in Colombia and its third overall in Latin America. The property, which currently houses 109 guestrooms and suites, will unveil an additional 159 accommodations beginning in early 2018.
The design for the project was led by architecture practice Megaterra Colombia S.A. and Bogota-based interiors firm Sokoloff & Sewerin. The hotel is adorned with neutral tones, contemporary wooden furniture, marble décor, and artwork by Colombian artist Pedro Ruiz. Large windows and high ceilings flood interiors with natural light and frame views of the Caribbean Sea and the golf course. Spacious bathrooms are equipped with separate tubs and showers.
Guests are welcome to the Conrad Cartagena with the lobby’s Son y Ron bar, which anchors the space in architectural glory. Five additional F&B spaces are currently installed onsite, including the signature eatery Biblioteka, the vibrant Adesso Tu, the poolside Sun Bar, the coffee shop concept Market Café, and the casual Sea Salt Grill. The hotel is also home to more than 24,000 square feet of flexible event space including the 9,000-square-foot grand ballroom. Five sleek, 700-square-foot meeting rooms are clad with light woods, modern fixtures, and neutral tones that recall the surrounding Caribbean beaches. Also featured are five swimming pools, which total more than 24,000 square feet as well. The 9,600-square-foot onsite spa is expected to debut in early 2018 alongside the Karibana Beach Club, children’s club, and kosher kitchen.
