Located in the capital of China’s Liaoning Province, the Conrad Shenyang has opened atop of the mixed-used Forum 66 development—the city’s tallest tower.
Spread across the 19 uppermost floors of the 67-story tower, the Conrad Shenyang was envisioned by the New York office of global architectural interiors firm Wilson Associates. The team dreamt up a design scheme that complements the property’s panoramic urban backdrop and takes cues from Chinese history and cultural traditions.
Clad in rich sheets of black mica, the nine-foot-tall doors to the hotel’s grand ballroom open up to a grand, forest-inspired space with 29-foot ceilings. The junior ballroom is equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a private garden terrace.
Each of the hotel’s 315 guestrooms and 37 suites are outfitted in opulence. The rooms feature leather-wrapped desks accented with brass, and millwork and accessories with touches of turquoise. The mostly muted palette is accented with red wool plaid and mustard tweed. Lined with heated floors, the spa-like bathrooms are bedecked in natural quartzite stone and gray marble.
