Groundbreaking has been announced for the mixed-use development Thompson San Antonio and the Arts Residences along the city’s River Walk. Slated to open in 2019, the $116 million project will comprise 58 residences and 162 guestrooms.
Houston-based practice Powers Brown Architecture is spearheading the project for Two Roads Hospitality along with Guadalajara-based interior design firm Amass & G. The 162-room property will span 20 stories above the San Antonio River and the emerging Arts District.
In addition to oversized guestrooms and suites, the hotel will house a spa and fitness center, a 3,600-square-foot ballroom, and an outdoor pool overlooking the River Walk. Among the onsite F&B options will be a rooftop bar that boasts panoramic views, as well as a street-level signature eatery.
