Cooper Carry has completed its design of the new Inn at Barnsley Resort and Georgian Hall at the Barnsley Resort in Adairsville, Georgia. The expansion grows the 19th-century countryside property with 55 new guestrooms and 9,000 square feet of meeting spaces.
“Cooper Carry’s design for the Inn at Barnsley Resort weaves a cohesive narrative that illustrates the timeless appeal of the village and creates a unique experience for guests,” says Pope Bullock, principal with Cooper Carry’s hospitality studio. “The Inn is a signature component in the vision for the project, and we’re pleased to have partnered with Barnsley Resort in creating new additions to this renowned destination that will draw leisure and business travelers from across the Southeast and beyond.”
Drawing upon cues of a classic English country manor house, the Inn at Barnsley Resort is now the largest structure upon the 3,000-acre campus. Fifteen configurations span the spacious king and queen guestrooms, which are outfitted with vaulted ceilings, exposed rafters, dormers, Juliet balconies, and window seats. The large, three-bay presidential suite boasts a private outdoor terrace that overlooks the nearby Beer Garden restaurant and resort village. Rich wood paneling and hardwood floors conceived by Kent Interior Design are also included in the design. The Inn’s expansive Living Room features a grand staircase and large fireplace.
Located adjacent to the historic Rice House restaurant, the Georgian Hall hosts new event and meeting spaces, including the 4,700-square-foot Savannah Ballroom. Vaulted ceilings are punctuated with exposed rafters and trusses, while large dormer windows flood the interior with natural light. Painted millwork complements the striking floor-to-ceiling fireplace. Georgian Hall is also wrapped with a southern-style porch appointed with numerous double doors. A large, octagonal rotunda porch at the main entrance also doubles as an outdoor event space, mirroring the rest of the porch with wooden columns, beams, and ceilings as well as classic stone floors.
