The independent, new-build Ramble Hotel will be unveiled in late 2017 in Denver’s emerging RiNo neighborhood. The 50-room property will house an intimate theater and bar, small retail space, an outdoor courtyard, and independent restaurant.
The 4,700-square-foot lobby will welcome guests with 20-foot-tall ceilings and an ambiance reminiscent of French salons of the 1600s. Salon host Catherine de Vivonne, Marquise de Rambouillet serves as the namesake for the hotel, which aims to perpetuate the socially oriented qualities of the historic salons. Seating vignettes and a marquee will be located in the lobby, operated by New York-based bar brand Death & Co, which is also helming the F&B programming for a café bar, reservation-only bar on the second floor, and the property’s outdoor courtyard).
The hotel’s guestrooms and public areas will embrace the neighborhood’s urban industrial nature with an aesthetic crafted by Los Angeles-based firm Avenue Interior Design. Soft, luxurious fabrics will stand out with eye-catching patterns and textures alongside eclectic found elements. Local firm Johnson Nathan Strohe (JNS) will oversee the architecture, including a façade with detailed masonry work.
“The edifice is designed to engage the passerby, the hotel guest and the restaurant patron, evoking an Old World charm and a certain curiosity that allows a moment of pause and lets the eye wander to intricate masonry and metal detailing,” says JNS partner Tobias Strohe. “Materials are traditional and of lasting quality, giving a nod to their neighborhood context, while incorporating a contemporary interpretation.”
