Hilton Hotels & Resorts has opened Hilton London Bankside, collaboratively designed by locally based firms Dexter Moren Associates and Twenty2Degrees.
Located near the Tate Modern art gallery and Shakespeare’s Globe theater, the hotel was inspired by Brutalist architecture with industrial-style flourishes, such as exposed metal screens, brickwork, and tube station tiles. While locally inspired lobby flooring references the Tate Modern’s famous Turbine Hall, furniture calls to mind the prints of William Morris. Art is on display throughout the property includes sculptures by British artist David Farrer.
The property’s 292 accommodations include 25 suites featuring city views, and one penthouse apartment with an approximately 1,076-square-foot entertainment area and a private roof terrace.
Amenities include the OXBO Bankside eatery, the Distillery bar, eight meeting rooms, the 700-person Bankside ballroom, an executive lounge, fitness facilities, a pool, and a wellness treatment room.
