Disneyland in Anaheim, California, has revealed plans to launch the resort’s fourth property—it’s first hotel development in 20 years.
To be located on the site of a current 10-acre parking lot, no official theme has been announced for the proposed 700-room hotel, which will be designed by Walt Disney Imagineering, but it will include amenities such as two pools and a rooftop terrace and restaurant. Disney intends to take advantage of an Anaheim program permitting any 4-Star or 4-Diamond hotel to maintain 70 percent of bed taxes for two decades, with the tax accounting for 15 percent of the nightly rate. The resort already houses two 4-Diamond hotels.
With construction slated to kick off in 2018, the project is estimated for a 2021 completion.
