Ekies All Senses Resort owner Alexandra Efstathiadou collaborated with Athens-based firms Agarch+ Architects and Fytron Landscape Design to draw inspiration from the Halkidiki’s rich spiritual history and design 10 new suites and renovate five rooms, the pool area, and the lobby.
Baptismal bowls, serving as water basins in some of the suites, reflect the power of water to sanctify and rejuvenate. Meanwhile, high-quality beds are stripped down to a bare-bones aesthetic.
Emphasis is placed on natural materials, both on a structural and decorative level. Organic fabrics, like pure linen adorning the curtains, bed, and pillows provide a softness that balances the solid wood furnishings and nude, concrete ceilings. Using ecological paint, the walls follow a color scheme of authentic local hues including rich olive green, blue, white, and burnt sienna. Heat-resistant floors—comprising handmade ceramics and mosaic tiles that pay homage to traditional Greek houses from the 1960s and ’70s—enable guests to comfortably walk barefoot.

The pool area has been redesigned to include a playful oasis for children. Exotic palm trees, comfy floor pillows, and handwoven parasols juxtapose an 1980s bohemian spirit with the timelessness of the verdant nature surrounding the pool.
Another addition to the resort’s revamped offerings is its refreshed lobby, where old wooden furniture mingle with contemporary pieces. Last but not least, a new herb garden close to the entrance provides the resort’s chef and bartenders with the freshest and most fragrant herbs.
