London-based design practice Tara Bernerd & Partners has completed the renovation of the Empire suite at the Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown. The palatial 2,400-square-foot accommodation, formerly the Royal suite, comprises a living room, dining room, media room, study, walk-in closet, dual bathrooms, master bedroom, and a full catering kitchen. “When approaching the redesign, it was key to consider the lifestyle of the well-traveled, design-conscious guest staying in such a notable location,” says Bernerd. “The whole design gives nod to the vibrant locale and creates a warm and seductive atmosphere.”
The revamped suite features an optimized layout with furniture positioned to maximize 180-degree views of the Manhattan skyline. Warm timbers and striking marbles reinvigorate the social areas along with inviting rugs and a statement dining table. The study was also reimagined to soak in a greater amount of natural light and to transform into a cozy second bedroom option. Soft silks and handpainted wall panels from de Gournay accentuate the grandeur of the master bedroom as well.
The suite will debut to the public on January 1, 2021.
