Welk Resorts Sirena del Mar in Cabo San Lucas has reopened to guests after Hurricane Odile and is debuting its newest dining option, Estrella Restaurante.
Helmed by executive chef Abraham Tamez, Estrella is located on the pool deck overlooking Bahia San Lucas and El Arco. Menu options combine Baja-Mediterranean cuisine and pre-Hispanic dishes, both inspired by Mexican locales.
The restaurant draws upon traditional Mexican design. Talavera tiles and locally made artisanal pieces characterize the interior, which features a Spanish-style fountain centerpiece and a chandelier with star-shaped glass ornaments referencing the restaurant’s name—Estrella—which is Spanish for star.
The bar area has an open kitchen, wood-fired oven, and communal and private seating; while the dining area seats up to 180 with private dining space for groups of up to 12.
The seven-acre Sirena del Mar features a redesigned pool deck and enhanced outdoor communal spaces, and guests can access three private decks for sunbathing, an intimate cove beach, and two infinity pools. The main infinity pool’s swim-up bar, La Palapa, overlooks the Sea of Cortez. Chef-led cooking classes are available for guests at the outdoor Inspirado Palapa, while the indoor Centro de Inspiración offers games, activities, and a newly enlarged fitness center.
Resort villas come in one-, two- and three-bedroom configurations, and each has an ocean view from both its private patio and balcony. Interiors include custom furniture, travertine stone flooring, private bedrooms, full kitchens, and washers and dryers.
