Fairmont Hotels & Resorts (FRHI) has opened the beachfront Fairmont Ajman in the United Arab Emirates.
The 252-room, 14-floor resort is located on the smallest of the seven emirates directly on the Arabian Gulf and nearby neighboring Dubai. The Ajman City Centre mall, Ajman Dhow boat building yard, the Ajman National Museum, and Ajman Fort are all located near the hotel. A multimillion-dollar airport, theme park, and Al Zorah—a complex to feature lifestyle residences, a championship 18-hole golf course, and a marina—are all currently in development.
“The opening of Fairmont Ajman aligns with our expansion strategy to more than double our company’s regional footprint by 2020,” says Sami Nasser, senior vice president of operations for FRHI. “With close to a million visitors arriving in Ajman every year and tourism numbers expected to increase, the resort is arriving in the market at a very opportune time and perfectly complements our company’s unrivaled portfolio in the UAE.”
Fairmont Ajman’s spacious guestrooms and penthouses feature a soft palette of pearl silver hues and neutral-toned textiles.
Amenities include an infinity pool, children’s activity facility, spa and fitness center, and a ballroom able to accommodate up to 380 guests with floor-to-ceiling windows providing Gulf views. Seven restaurants and lounges are available onsite, such as Spectrum—based on the former Spectrum on One at the Fairmont Dubai—an Arabian-themed nightclub, and a signature Turkish restaurant to debut later this year.
The Fairmont Ajman joins sister UAE properties the Fairmont Dubai, Fairmont the Palm, and Fairmont Bab Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi.
