The Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle has announced that it will kick off its most ambitious renovations in 40 years in January 2020. Slated for completion in summer 2020, the overhaul will comprise a transformed lobby and the introduction of new F&B spaces, while restoring select original details.
Spanish studio Lázaro Rosa-Violán (LRV) will spearhead the updates based on a precise narrative that subtly references the onsite legacy with classic themes, textures, and materials. The reimagined lobby will be anchored by a bar concept conceived as the hotel’s key social hub throughout the day, in addition to a seductive library bar. The hotel’s main dining room will retain its soaring framework with new bold shapes and contours added to it. Working in tandem with LRV, Sudbury, Massachusetts-based Parker-Torres Design, will conceive the hotel’s new meeting rooms, which has also led a $25 million renovation on the property’s guestrooms and corridors in 2016.
