Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, in partnership with Keystone Resorts, has opened Fairmont Udaipur Palace, a palatial retreat carved in stone atop India’s Aravali Range.
Spanning 18 acres, the 327-room resort features seven event venues, eight dining concepts, a wellness sanctuary, and layered experiences that celebrate Rajasthan’s poetic legacy of art, craft, and hospitality.
A majestic design

Lobby
Rooted in Mewar fortress architecture, the design showcases chattris, courtyards, stepwells, and terraces hewn from rock and marble. Guests enter through the Raj Dwar, a grand gateway flanked by cannons, before arriving at the lobby, which is crowned by a soaring dome and royal chandelier.
From there, the property expands into the outdoors with shaded terraces, such as Panther Patio, and a series of pavilions, gardens, and colonnades.
The palace’s three wings honor the primal forces: Surya Mahal (Sun Palace) awash in golden light; Chandra Mahal (Moon Palace) sheathed in cool, contemplative tones; and Agni Mahal (Fire Palace), where torch-lit corridors evoke the eternal flame.
Leopard motifs—both sculpted and painted—symbolize resilience and grace, while deep-blue Thikri mirror-inlay panels handcrafted by local artisans line corridors and courtyards. Embroidered artworks by village craftsmen further weave India’s living heritage into the interiors.
Rooms and suites

Jewel of Udaipur Suite
Accommodations range from Fairmont Rooms and Signature Rooms with plunge pools to specialty suites. The Jewel of Udaipur Suite, for instance, features a private terrace and pool, and the Royal Maharaja and Royal Maharani Suites offer private pools and expansive outdoor sanctuaries.

Dahaad
The eight onsite dining concepts, meanwhile, span a variety of global influences while staying rooted in place.
Bahaar offers globally inspired, locally sourced fare; Dahaad, an opulent palace bar, centers around a Thikri leopard sculpture; Dastaan celebrates storytelling amid curated art and books; Sitara pairs cosmic cocktails with stargazing; Zaika elevates bold Indian flavors; and the Ivory Pool Bar provides a tranquil sunken retreat.
Forthcoming debuts include Celeste, an avant-garde Asian bistro, and the Alchemist, a Mediterranean live-kitchen concept.
Furthermore, Fairmont Udaipur Palace also boasts a gym, 12,000-square-foot spa and salon, and more than 140,000 square feet of event space (including Jewel, one of the largest ballrooms in the region).
