Firmdale Hotels will unveil its second New York property, the Whitby, in Manhattan’s upper Midtown neighborhood later this month. Designed by Firmdale’s own Kit Kemp, the property exudes a unique English style across its 86 individually crafted guestrooms and suites and public spaces.
Spread across 16 floors, accommodations will boast floor-to-ceiling windows and private terraces. The two-bedroom Whitby suite features two terraces and a kitchen.
Equipped with a 30-foot pewter bar, the Whitby restaurant and bar will feature high ceilings and upholstered banquettes. Baskets referencing England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland will hang from the ceiling. Additional amenities include a drawing room, orangery, courtyard, and private event spaces, such as the 130-seat cinema.
The Whitby is located two blocks from Central Park and steps from fine dining and attractions like the Museum of Modern Art.
