Argentina-based Fën Hotels has debuted its first U.S. property in New York with the Dazzler Brooklyn, a member of the upscale Dazzler Hotels collection.
Located in downtown Brooklyn near the Brooklyn Museum and Barclays Center, the 174-room hotel takes design cues from its surroundings and blends them with contemporary finishes conceived by locally based clo-th Interiors.
“The Brooklyn aesthetic we drew from is a mix of vintage style with a modern aesthetic,” says firm founder Szandra Toth. “Dazzler Brooklyn is closely situated to the crossover between Manhattan and Brooklyn, which provided us with distinct location inspiration and the opportunity to merge the glamour of Manhattan with the industrial feel of Brooklyn.”
Accented by residential-style furniture groupings, a raw concrete staircase acts as the lobby’s focal point and contrasts with lustrous oiled-wood flooring and polished brass fixtures and metalwork. Nearby elevators contain blown-up reproductions of antique area maps.
The hotel includes 154 250-square-foot standard accommodations, 14 300-square-foot junior suites, and six 450-square-foot executive suites, each featuring their own vestibule and living area. Every room comes equipped with stenciled art, a custom headboard, a desk, locally inspired décor, and handwoven jute area rugs. More vintage aspects emerge with 19th-century-era moldings and millwork.
Guests may choose between a ground-level café and espresso bar and the second-story outdoor beer garden set to open this fall. Additional amenities include a fitness center, business center, a 3,767-square-foot ballroom, and a 667-square-foot pre-function area.
