Foster + Partners has been selected as the winner of the international competition to design the forthcoming Four Seasons Hotel Makkah in Saudi Arabia. Located in the Holy City of Makkah, the hotel will be Four Seasons’ second location in Saudi Arabia following the Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh at Kingdom Center.
The hotel will be located adjacent to Al-Masjid Al-Harām (the Grand Mosque) with framed views of the Haram and the Kaaba from each guestroom and suite. All 375 accommodations will be outfitted with one or more private prayer rooms, while an additional 90 Four Seasons Private Residences will be spread across the multi-towered building. The hotel volume will be installed atop a retail podium that integrates public spaces into the Haram. Amenities will include three restaurants and lounges, meeting rooms, a ballroom, spa, and fitness center.
