Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita is undergoing its most significant renovation since opening 16 years ago, with London-based design firm 1508 London leading the transformation.
The comprehensive refresh spans all rooms, suites, and villas, including the expansive two-, three-, and five-bedroom villas as well as the presidential suite, alongside a complete overhaul of the resort’s spa.
The renovation of Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita
Nestled between turquoise lagoons, tropical vegetation, and the dramatic Bambou Mountain on Mauritius’ east coast, the resort captures the beauty and vibrant culture of the island.
1508 London’s concept fuses barefoot elegance with cultural authenticity, creating immersive interiors that flow effortlessly into the landscape. Light-toned, natural materials and finishes evoke the surrounding beaches, while vibrant accents—drawn from the island’s rich heritage—infuse the spaces with a sense of energy and place.
Envisioned as a “living canvas,” the renovated spaces strike a balance between understated luxury and functionality. Handcrafted elements, layered textures, and regionally inspired patterns celebrate local artistry while grounding the guest experience in a sense of connection and discovery.
“Central to the design is the concept of understated beach elegance, where tactile and sensory experiences take precedence,” says Anthony Taylor, design principal at 1508 London. “We’ve replaced the previous dark and functional layouts with a lighter, more open design, incorporating framed walls, rich wood details, pops of color, and artworks inspired by the living canvas of Mauritius.”
“This approach establishes a cohesive visual identity across every room and veranda, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the beauty of their surroundings,” he adds.
