Tokyo-based hospitality company Fujita Kanko has revealed plans to launch a new hotel brand with adventure-seeking Millennials in mind. Tavinos will mix design and technology to create sleek environments with minimal staffing.
Fujita Kanko will roll out its first 188-room Tavinos outpost in Tokyo’s Hamamatsu-cho district in August 2019, with a second 278-room location in the Asakusa section of the city joining the lineup in May 2020.
The design of Tavinos will emphasize Japanese pop culture with elements such as eye-catching Manga artwork. Averaging 129 square feet, guestrooms will be outfitted with smart storage solutions to maximize space, while a spacious lobby lounge will serve as a signature fixture of each location.
“There are already affordable accommodations throughout Japan, but traveling Millennials are hungry for the community of a hostel and the professionalism and expertise of an experienced hotelier,” says Akira Segawa, president and CEO of Fujita Kanko. “Tavinos will offer what outgoing and adventurous travelers want: the opportunity to meet interesting people, plan activities together, and explore.”
