Shinola and Detroit-based real estate firm Bedrock have announced plans to launch the first Shinola Hotel in the Motor City. Located downtown, the boutique concept will arrive this fall with designs from New York-based Gachot Studios and locally based Kraemer Design Group, which will serve as the architect of record.
“A great hotel provides something for everyone. We will create a diverse program to engage guests and welcome and energize the community,” says Gachot Studios cofounder Christine Gachot. “We look forward to activating the street level and getting people out walking, jumping from one venue to the next and exploring. We hope it will become a destination for those in and outside the city.”
Outfitted with more than 130 rooms, the hotel will be conceived as a living room for business travelers, tourists, and even locals. The property will also boast an F&B program led by NoHo Hospitality Group.
