Gansevoort Hotel Group has plans to open the Gansevoort Playa Imbert December 15th on the Dominican Republic’s north coast. Nathalie G. Pain of Paclalu Interior Design will lead the renovations.
The hotel will feature 48 suites with one and two-bedroom lofts; three-bedroom apartments with private plunge pools and terraces; and a collection of four-bedroom penthouses—each with a private rooftop Jacuzzi.
At the resort’s center is a three-tiered cascading infinity pool overlooking Playa Imbert’s crescent-shaped beach. A second, adults-only pool will open next spring. Dining at Baia Lounge, which is now open, features gourmet Mediterranean specialties and Asian-inspired fare. Downstairs, La Cantina Wine + Cigar Cellar offers a collection of wines from around the world and a fully stocked humidor in an underground setting.
Other planned amenities include a fitness center, day spa, and a meditation and yoga garden.
