The 275-room Graduate Eugene has debuted as the latest entry in the Graduate Hotels portfolio near the University of Oregon campus.
“With Graduate Eugene, we had the unique opportunity to meld the nostalgia and comfort of a vintage hangout with the vibrancy of a city’s adventurous, outdoor spirit,” says Andrew Alford, chief creative officer at Graduate Hotels. “Guests will enjoy extremely textural design that welcomes them in but also inspires curiosity and an eagerness to get outside and experience all that Eugene has to offer.”
The front desk doubles as a shoe display, where a collection of 43 Nike sneakers highlights the ingenuity of the Eugene-founded brand, from vintage hiking boots to roller skates. Anchored by a 34-person communal table, the lobby also hosts an expansive gallery wall adorned with vintage sports posters. Attached to an outdoor beer garden, signature restaurant, the Fir, is housed within the lobby alongside the café concept Poindexter. Home to more than 30,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, Graduate Oregon includes the Vistas Ballroom located across the 12th floor rooftop.
Guestrooms celebrate Oregon’s lush landscapes, the heritage of the Pacific Northwest, and the University of Oregon’s famed track and field program. Green corduroy headboards offset wood tones as well as wallpaper detailed with ducks—the university mascot. Custom waffle iron lamps pay homage to the roots of Nike, while original artwork inspired by Oregon alums and the film Animal House, which shot in Eugene, are also fixed upon the walls.
