The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas has introduced a refresh to the guestrooms housed within its Boulevard and Chelsea Towers. Led by New York’s Virserius Studio, the upgrade will be fully completed by 2018, with 2,895 of the hotel’s 3,027 accommodations bearing a new look.
New accommodations will feature modern artwork paired with clean textiles, bold wallcoverings, textured carpeting, enhanced lighting, and new technology. Terrace rooms and Reception suites will draw inspiration from the Cosmopolitan’s design and its location in Las Vegas with edgy interiors crafted with sophistication, rich jewel tones, gold touches, and handcrafted patterns. Custom damask wallcoverings will double as a canopy for beds, complementing internationally sourced artwork. Wraparound Terrace suites as well as City rooms and suites will evoke the residential qualities of an urban penthouse clad with neutral colors and bright accents.
The design also integrates unexpected elements from the resort’s public spaces, such as custom graffiti art and striking wallpaper in the closets. Eye-catching details include reflective finishes enhanced by dramatic lighting and plush fabrics adorned with playful patterns.
“The vision for this premium room collection at the Cosmopolitan was one of bold design and bright accents to complement the overall contemporary aesthetic,” says Virserius Studio founder Therese Virserius. “Coupled with curated art pieces and statement-making detailing, this project honored the modern spirit of the Cosmopolitan alongside the history and vibrant essence of the Las Vegas Strip.”
