The Hamilton Hotel in Washington, DC has announced the launch of Hamilton University, a web-based platform developed to provide a range of work-from-home training for its associates. The program was created to keep staff engaged and employed while the property remains closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Courses range from hospitality to F&B training, and will include a schedule of assignments both at home and onsite. Individual progress can be tracked across hotel departments as well.
Hamilton University curriculum includes:
- TIPS certification
- Serve safe certification
- Classes on wine, spirits, and beer
- COVID clean training
- Menu and ingredient training
- Barista certification/summer and fall drink production focus
- Hospitality online coursework
- Second language training through Rosetta Stone (French, Spanish, Italian)
- Harassment training meant for management and line-level associates
