The Harmon Guest House has opened as the latest environmentally friendly retreat in the Sonoma County Wine Country of Northern California. Designed by San Francisco-based firm David Baker Architects, the hotel is located in the heart of downtown Healdsburg beside its h2hotel sister property.
Designed to exude versatility, the hotel houses 39 guestrooms, including six suites conceived as their own private hotel wings. Adjoining suites and studio-style king rooms demonstrate the flexibility of the design, which features modern, organic touches like fireclay tiles crafted from locally recycled materials and cast concrete vanities and tubs. Endowed with a warm, organic atmosphere, all accommodations boast abundant natural light, local artwork, and access to a private outdoor space linked via balconies or patios. The Rooftop at Harmon Guest House will crown the hotel along with the event space Merritt Hall, the latter of which spans 1,500 square feet of indoor meeting space. The bar will also hold the denomination as the city’s sole publicly accessible rooftop concept.
Outfitted with extensive sustainable measures, Harmon Guest House includes a sun-shading slat system to reduce solar gain, LED lighting, a solar thermal water heating system, and a rainwater harvest system.
