The Harpeth Hotel has debuted in Franklin, Tennessee as the newest addition to the Curio Collection by Hilton. Designed by Mendy Winkler and Stephen Perkins of the Washington, DC- and Dallas-based HotelStudio, the boutique concept is crafted to honor the political history and Southern charm of the locale.
The Harpeth’s 21 accommodations feature a residential-style warmth complete with tiled mudrooms installed at the threshold of each unit. Headboards are adorned with a pattern of herringbone and chevron, while local artwork infuses a sense of place. The sconces in the lobby resemble flame-lit farm lanterns convey an agrarian flair, in tandem with waxed barn door walls and equestrian artwork in the onsite library.
A localized influence, particularly Tennessee’s whiskey history, is instilled in the flagship restaurant 1799 Kitchen & Cocktails. Outfitted with architectural elements resembling whiskey barrels, reclaimed wood lines line the interior, while tables and the face of the central bar show of a torched finish. The adjacent café McGavock’s Coffee Bar & Provisions conveys a 19th century-inspired, agricultural charm.
More than 5,000 square feet of meeting and event spaces are featured on-site, including the Riverside Ballroom and Maury Boardroom—both of which are crafted to honor the wartime heritage of the city. Chevron ceilings line the ballroom just like it’s the case with the lobby and library, while wall sconces are crafted to mirror the handmade lace of ballroom dresses from the early 19th century.
