The Hotel Chauncey as the newest entry into the Hawkeye Hotels portfolio in downtown Iowa City, Iowa. Located within a new mixed-use development, the hotel is outfitted with clean lines and expansive framed views that anchor the project in a sense of place.
Conceived by locally based architecture firm Rohrbach Associates, the freshly-built outpost’s contemporary design composes a sense of grandeur reflective of various local inspirations. The guestrooms are endowed with a generous footprint and open layout detailed with structural elements like exposed beams or columns. Large kitchenettes are also installed in each residential-style accommodation along with a workspace, while suites feature large living rooms in addition to those. A 24-hour fitness center and fifth-floor terrace overlooking the historic downtown corridor serve as hallmarks of the onsite amenities.
