Hilton has announced that an upcoming Waldorf Astoria property will serve as the centerpiece of a new two million-square-foot mixed-use complex in San Francisco. The Waldorf Astoria San Francisco will be housed across the first 21 stories of the 605-foot-tall Foster + Partners-designed Mission Street Tower in the South of Market district. The complex will also include an 850-foot-tall office and residential tower, located in the center of the redevelopment project in the city’s new Transbay neighborhood.
Santa Monica, California-based HBA will craft the interiors for the hotel, blending signature brand sophistication with modern touches that reflect the character of San Francisco. The hotel will also include an upscale spa and the brand’s signature Peacock Alley when it debuts in 2021. The property will be the brand’s third in California, preceded by the La Quinta Resort in Palm Springs and the forthcoming the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills.
