The former Springmaid Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina has reopened as the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront. The 30-acre seaside resort underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation by Fort Collins, Colorado-based Oglesby Design following its purchase in late 2014. The property offers six pools, a 24-hour fitness center, activity space, and an 18-hole miniature golf course.
The redesign included the upgrade of all 452 oceanfront guestrooms, which are updated with new ebony wood furnishings and a fresh palette of ocean blue and cool gray. The coastal design is further heightened with private balconies and outdoor seating.
In addition to the refurbishment of Southern Tied Bar & Grille on the Springmaid Pier, the new indoor-outdoor Ocean Blue Restaurant offers Southern comfort food, while the rum- and bourbon-centric Ocean Blue Lounge features an open layout that anchors the 20,000-square-foot main building, and the Market and Fishtales are grab-and-go concepts.
Featured among the resort’s enhancements is 35,000 square feet of flexible indoor meeting space, including the largest oceanfront conference center in the region. The three-story space has been reimagined with new décor, wall treatments, carpeting, floor-to-ceiling windows, and covered balconies. Three ballrooms are divisible into 19 meeting or breakout spaces that accommodate up to 1,000 visitors.
