The Amway Grand Plaza hotel in Grand Rapids, Michigan has joined Curio – A Collection by Hilton.
Located downtown, the Amway Grand Plaza, Curio Collection by Hilton, is owned and managed by AHC+Hospitality.
“This iconic property serves as a hotspot for residents, business and leisure travelers thanks to its distinctive features that include the original architecture and design, as well as world-class dining options,” says global head of Curio Dianna Vaughan.
Having hosted dignitaries, presidents, and celebrities, the landmark property originally debuted as the Pantlind in 1913, featuring one of the world’s largest gold-leaf ceilings in its lobby. The property was transformed as the Amway Grand Plaza in 1981 and is currently recognized as a Historical Hotel of America.
In 2014, the property reopened the Glass Tower—a $14 million renovation that mingles the hotel’s classic design elements with a contemporary aesthetic.
Accommodations span 682 guestrooms with 45 suites including the Presidential, Michigan, Van Andel, and DeVos suites.
The property is home to eight F&B outlets, including the Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck, the first U.S. location of the new dining concept; Cygnus27, an upscale Latin-inspired restaurant with panoramic city views; Ruth’s Chris Steak House; GP sports bar; the Kitchen Counter by Wolfgang Puck; Lumber Baron Bar, a historically inspired space with a fireplace and leather club chairs; and Garden Court lounge.
Additional amenities include a spa, salon, fitness center, indoor pool, two hot tubs, a sauna, a steam room, a lighted tennis court, a racquetball court, and more than 47,000 square feet of flexible function space with 42 meeting rooms and four ballrooms.
A climate-controlled skywalk connects the hotel with DeVos Place Convention Center, where an additional 250,000 square feet of meeting and exhibit space is available.
