Hilton reiterated its dedication to expansion across Latin America during the recent South American Hotel Investment & Tourism Conference, hosted at the Hilton Colon Guayaquil in Ecuador. Hilton president and CEO Christopher J. Nassetta served as the keynote speaker for the event.
“As Hilton drives remarkable global growth with the largest rooms pipeline in the industry, Latin America plays an incredibly important role in our expansion efforts,” he says. “We continue to achieve sustained year-over-year growth in the region and look forward to welcoming our 100th hotel in Latin America later this year.”
The company’s second quarter showings for 2016 and in the 12-month period ending on June 30, 2016, show that Hilton has introduced 20 new properties in Latin America and signed 30 new deals. Hilton now has more than 16,000 guestrooms and 90 properties in the region across 10 brands, as well as more than 50 additional projects in its pipeline.
The company recently launched its first properties in Bolivia and Guatemala, and has introduced additional brands to Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, and Uruguay. Additional openings are expected in Colombia, Honduras, Mexico, and Peru before the end of the year.
