The Hotel Amapa is set to debut along the Pacific Coast in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in February 2018. The design will fuse a traditional Mexican aesthetic with a contemporary style that is simultaneously laidback and spirited. Developer David Harries led a team including Antoine Ratigan of Circle Minds, Nicole Haime of NMH Creative, and GM Adalberto Reiter to conceptualize Hotel Amapa, which will aim to operate as a cultural hub of Puerto Vallarta.
Named after the Zona Romantica neighborhood in which it will open, the 55-room hotel will draw inspiration from national figures, such as famed Mexican architect Luis Barragan. A minimalist, modern aesthetic will complement a backdrop of the Sierra Madre mountains as well as the old town. The property will be outfitted with bespoke local craftsmanship, including barro coverings sourced from Oaxacal, artisanal hammocks from the Yucatan peninsula, and weaves by fiber artist Mariella Motilla. Among its F&B options, Hotel Amapa will be topped with a rooftop bar and pool.
