Curio – A Collection by Hilton is set to expand in 2017 with the addition of Hotel Phillips, located in downtown Kansas City.
Having acquired the luxury property this past October, Arbor Lodging Partners will oversee an extensive renovation of the property, which will be managed by Arbor affiliate NVN Hotels.
Located near the city’s Power & Light District, the Sprint Center, and the Kansas City Convention Center, the Art Deco-inspired hotel was originally built in 1931 and has been listed on the National Registry of Historic Places since 1979.
Chester, New Jersey-based Kraig Kalashian Architecture & Design (KKAD) will head the refresh, which will maintain key original design details, including the marble staircase that graces the entrance.
Maintaining its commitment to the local art community, Hotel Phillips hosts an artist-in-residence program showcasing works by a selected artists throughout the property.
Hotel amenities include 11,000 square feet of function space and a full-service dining option. Additional F&B outlets will be announced in the coming months.
