The Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa has unveiled a slew of enhanced amenities following a refresh by New York-based architecture and design firm Stonehill Taylor. From the reception and lobby areas to the Belvedere Lounge, updates honor the resort’s Neoclassical roots while also enlivening public spaces with the tropical Florida flora.
“We focused on integrating natural materials and oversized plants to bring nature indoors,” says Stonehill Taylor senior interiors associate Abby Bullard. “Our goal was to bring the Florida tropics indoors, immersing guests in a tropical oasis that seamlessly blends the indoor and outdoor amenity spaces. The resort embodies a relaxed and inviting, yet textured and eclectic feel.”
Warm minimalism characterizes the redesign, which includes woven elements and walnut-slatted check-in desks that complement a neutral palette punctuated by greenery. Original mahogany trim is newly painted white, while blackened steel details infuse a refined, modern quality.
Landscape designs by Florida-based firm EDSA further amplify Stonehill Taylor’s revision with sculptural natural focal points. “We want guests to feel completely immersed in the resort as soon as they arrive,” Bullard adds. “In order to create this moment of impact, we added a pair of large, biomorphic freestanding sculptures studded with air plants that sit on either side of reception that sit in front of a full green wall and manicured plantings.”
