UK architecture firm Scott Brownrigg has completed a thorough overhaul of the 225-room Hyatt Regency London Stratford and the 125-room Hyatt House London Stratford. Located across a single building in London’s East End, the Hyatt Regency serves as a stylish hub for business and leisure travel, while the Hyatt House provides an extended stay option nearby.
The revamped interiors of both concepts reflect the connectivity of Stratford with subtle references to the Victorian Golden Age of train travel. “We worked closely with M&L Hospitality and the wider design team to create a new destination in Stratford,” says Scott Brownrigg director David Mason. “With a nod to the glamour and elegance of travel, we wanted to connect people back together and design fabulous spaces for work, rest, and play.”
Reminiscent of London’s railway, archways appear throughout the property’s common spaces along with bespoke detailing and a rich palette of brass light fixtures, marble surfaces, and jewel-toned velvet furnishings that offer a contemporary take on the glamour of 1920s travel. A spacious third-floor lobby is populated with a range of seating to accommodate coworking and socializing during the day as well as intimate dining and cocktails in the evening. Bar and dining booths are also outfitted with fixed seating and contemporary fluted details that further perpetuate the railway motif.
Both Hyatt hotels provide respite with soothing accommodations crafted akin to sanctuaries. Hyatt Regency guestrooms are distinguished by bold splashes of color and high-quality brass fittings, including bespoke pill lights and minibar details. Meanwhile, Hyatt House’s modern apartment-style suites boast fully equipped kitchens and flexible workspaces.
Additional onsite amenities include meeting space, a fitness center, and an open-air terrace.
