Iberostar Hotels and Resorts has expanded into Portugal this month with the launch of its seventh urban hotel, the Iberostar Lisboa. Designed by Portuguese firm Capinha Lopes Studio, the hotel is located in Baixa, one of Libson’s business and shopping hubs, which stands behind the exclusive Praça do Marquês de Pombal. Porto, Portugal-based Renata Laranjo of Silverfield also oversaw furnishings for the interior, favoring Portuguese materials and light colors to capture the local flair.
In addition to 153 double rooms, onsite F&B venues include the sunny, 150-seat restaurant Luz as well as the casual Boalama Lobby Bar and the Pool Bar, which boasts views of the vertical gardens in a contemporary outdoor setting. The hotel spa hosts a fitness center, salon, sauna, Turkish bath, biothermal shower, aromatherapy shower, solarium, and an indoor pool outfitted with a whirlpool bath area, water jets, and exterior views.
Meeting and events spaces include the 3,230-square-foot ballroom, which is easily reconfigured into three divided spaces, while the 2,150-square-foot lobby provides additional versatility for functions. The business center features seven conference rooms as well.
