Ibis Styles has unveiled its newest hotel in Lublin, a locale in eastern Poland. Located in a historic corridor, the Ibis Styles Lublin Old Town features interiors by Polish practice Tremend Studio that weave a historic narrative across the space that pays homage to local legends.
The hotel hosts a range of intimate moments that reinterpret traditional stories that are popular in the region. Design details cite lore about buried treasure and the daughter of a local goldsmith, and are punctuated by distinctive furniture and lighting. A fish stand anchors the reception area alongside a “caught in a net” installation. Additionally, rope serves as a key material—referencing to the etymology of the town name.
“It is worth it to introduce an element of surprise—something unique—and find a way to intrigue visitors,” says architect and Tremend president Magdalena Federowicz-Boule. “In case of Ibis Styles in Lublin, we take the guests on a journey following the city legends and bringing in customized elements and details corresponding to particular stories.”
