IHG Hotels & Resorts has revealed plans to expand the footprint of its upscale voco brand in the Americas. With an emphasis on quality and conversion opportunities, voco is slated to launch new locations in St. Augustine, Florida; Columbia, Missouri; and New York. The brand currently maintains a development pipeline of 28 properties in 19 countries that will be rolled out over the next five years.
“voco Hotels is one of our highest-potential, most flexible brands for owners,” says Julienne Smith, IHG’s senior vice president of development, Americas. “As the voco brand makes its debut in the Americas, it is generating terrific momentum with our initial three signings illustrating how strongly it resonates with owners seeking to enhance the originality of an existing property or develop a new hotel, while also tapping into IHG’s powerful global network and enterprise offerings.”
Located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, voco the Franklin Hotel will continue the hotel’s legacy of accommodating travelers from across the globe. The voco St. Augustine will rebrand a three-year-old hotel located between the sunny destination’s beaches and its Historic District. Finally, voco the Tiger Hotel will rebrand one of the tallest buildings in Columbia, located in the heart of the city’s downtown near the University of Missouri campus.
