The InterContinental San Juan has just unveiled its multimillion-dollar refresh. Overlooking Isla Verde beach, the hotel was updated to reflect the rich culture of Puerto Rico through a refreshed lens.
The beachfront property was revived at the hands of Boston-based Parker-Torres Design, which redesigned of the guest rooms and suites, and locally based studio 3MG-PR, which revamped of public spaces.
To bring the natural splendor of San Juan indoors, crisp white and blue accents and soft wood tones are used throughout each of the hotel’s 398 accommodations.
In addition to seven onsite F&B options, the InterContinental San Juan is home to more than 24,000 square feet of meeting space, including an updated conference floor. Lined with rich textures and floor-to-ceiling windows, the reimagined level comprises four ballrooms that range from 2,344 to 6,036 square feet.
The hotel’s remodeled Akua Spa will reopen in February, with amenities such as a sauna, steam bath, and five private treatment rooms.
