Boston-based studio J/Brice Design International has been chosen to redesign the Mövenpick Resort Al Nawras in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah Corniche. The firm was commissioned by the Saudi Arabia-based company Fakieh Group to revitalize and rebrand the property as a 7-Star resort.
Located on the 18-mile resort area near the Tahlia shopping district, the city center, and the King Abdul Aziz International Airport, the Resort Al Nawras offers views of the Red Sea. The resort’s main building embodies the geometry of a conch shell with a design based on a concentric circular theme. Occupying several levels of the landmark building, the indoor-outdoor Al Wadaa restaurant draws its name from the Arabic word for shell. The restaurant will be renovated, along with all public spaces and guestrooms and suites.
No price tag has yet been announced for the project, which is expected to be complete by the second quarter of 2017.
