The JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa has opened in India, marking the brand’s first resort and sixth property in the country.
“Each year, thousands of travelers pass through the picturesque hill station of Mussoorie to experience its temples, gardens, hiking trails and natural falls,” says Mitzi Gaskins, vice president and global brand manager for JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts. “And we are thrilled to celebrate that rich history and culture with our guests.”
The luxury hotel borrows from its Himalayan setting with a style inspired by the area’s historic walnut plantations. Each of the 115 guestrooms and suites features a balcony, and the resort’s Cedar Spa by L’Occitane, with five treatment rooms, offers therapies inspired by the indigenous cedar trees.
“The opening of the first JW Marriott resort in India is undoubtedly a milestone for the JW Marriott brand and Marriott International at large,” says Rajeev Menon, area vice president of South-Asia for Marriott International. “JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa reflects the sophistication, style, and exceptional service, attributes that have grown synonymous with the JW Marriott brand worldwide.”
The resort’s 3,300-square-foot Grand Orchard ballroom is among the largest in the city, and includes a prefunction area and three breakout rooms. The Den, a 12,000-square-foot entertainment center and kid’s club, offers a two-lane bowling alley, billiard and pool tables, gaming consoles, a library, nap areas, and a market with fresh food and beverages. Five specialty restaurants cater to a variety of groups, including JW Café, Reppan, Wisteria Deck, Trout House Grill & Bar, and Perch.
