Travel search engine Kayak has announced plans to launch its first hotel concept in Miami this April. Set to debut in partnership with lifestyle hospitality brand Life House, Kayak Miami Beach will repurpose a 1934 Art Deco landmark.
“Collaborating with Kayak accelerates our mission to make travel more meaningful and accessible for a wide array of discerning travelers,” said Rami Zeidan, founder and CEO of Life House. “Together with Kayak we’re able to create a perfect hotel experience for modern travelers who are seeking locally-rooted, intuitive hotel experiences at accessible prices.”
The design of Kayak Miami Beach will draw inspiration from the local Streamline Moderne vernacular, detailed with aviation motifs that reference Kayak’s services. Photography taken by Andy Sweet in the 1970s will punctuate the interiors, alongside geometric paintings and tile murals throughout the public spaces and the property’s 52 guestrooms. Layers of earth tones—including burnt orange, dusty grays, and jewel blues—will infuse the hotel with a warm, contemporary atmosphere.
Technology will also be a key tenet of the forthcoming hotel, greeting guests in the lobby with check-in kiosks and elevating accommodations with on-demand fitness classes. Terraced suites will be located on the rooftop, with exclusive access to private sunbathing stations and a plunge pool, and modern bar and restaurant Layla will crown the property.
