The Santa Monica Proper Hotel is set to debut this June with a design by Kelly Wearstler. The 271-room luxury property comprises a sleek new build and a Spanish Colonial Revival building crafted by Arthur E. Harvey in the late 1920s.
Wearstler’s concept will accentuate the Spanish architecture and Moorish details of the original design, with details drawing inspiration from its natural surroundings. Expect an organic palette as well as furnishings evocative of the beach. A locally inspired flair will also be infused throughout the interiors in the form of soft color and textures.
In addition to three F&B venues and the Surya Spa, the hotel will be home to a fitness center crowned with a yoga terrace as well as a rooftop pool.
