An agreement has been signed between the government of Dominica and Range Developments for the construction of a luxury hotel resort by Kempinski Hotels—its first luxury hotel project in the Caribbean.
The 101-room Cabrits Resort Kempinski Dominica will be located on Douglas Bay in Cabrits on the north shore of the island, close to the town of Portsmouth. The resort is surrounded by the Cabrits National Park, and has been designed to ensure a natural balance between the land and the sea.
The property is the first real estate project under a program offered by Dominica’s government whereby investors in the luxury resort can gain citizenship. Such citizenship programs exist in other Caribbean countries and are aimed at encouraging investment in the region.
This is Range Development’s second project in the Caribbean, following the launch of the Park Hyatt St Kitts, due to open at the end of December 2015.
