Located in the heart of Chicago’s financial district, the Gray Hotel is preparing to open its doors as the latest addition to Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants’ expanding portfolio of upscale Midwestern hotels. The debut marks the brand’s fifth 4-Star boutique hotel in Chicago.
The 293-room property is designed to add a contemporary edge to the landmark New York Life Insurance building. The original Georgia Gray marble and granite were preserved, and inspired the hotel’s name. Dining options will include Vol. 39, a chic lobby bar; the Latin American-inspired rooftop lounge, and restaurant Lola Braza, which will feature a retractable roof; and street-level restaurant Steadfast, managed by the Fifty/50 Group.
Kimpton teamed with the Tie Bar, a Chicago-based men’s accessory distributor, to create custom accessories for travelers in the guestrooms., and local fitness brand Iron & Oar has also been tapped to assist in the creation of specialized fitness courses for hotel guests.
The Kimpton Gray Hotel is slated for a June opening.
